Hi, you are in for a big treat.  Christian Burchard, one of the really great turners is coming out of retirement for the Northwest Wood Turners.  We'll have the privilege of learning his technique on how to produce round, centered and even hollow spheres.

We'll learn how to create well balanced exciting hollow forms.  Got questions that need answers, now's the time to get answers from an expert!

Christian Burchard is our special presenter at the September 2015 NW Woodturners meeting at the Multonomah Arts Center. Christian will also be presenting a day long demo on Friday Sept 4th, and a hands-on class using his special madrone on Saturday Sept 5th in Cottage #5 at the Multnomah Arts Center.

We are really fortunate to enjoy this unique opportunity offered to the NW wood turners and their turning friends.  Support your club and our efforts to bring the best world class talent to teach us their special skills and knowledge.

Come to the all day demo and better still come and attend the all day hands-on class.

Cost of all day demo is $35.  Cost of all day hands-on class is $125. Hours for each day are 9:00 to 4:30.

This is an opportunity you can't afford to miss! Not everyone can say they turned a hollow piece under the watchful eye of Christian Burchard.

I just got word that Bob Mach died at his home today.  Bob was working in the backyard when he suffered a heart attack.  Details about his service will be passed on when they become available.

I can't imagine Northwest Woodturners without Bob.

I mentioned this at the April meeting but forgot to bring it up last week.  Rockler is bringing back their Guild Day. Members of local woodworking groups do demonstrations at the Rockler store.  It's a good way to raise visibility and advertise the club.  Saturday, June 20th is the date this year.  Unfortunately, I am not available that day.  I've done the demo in past and it is a lot of fun.  Anyone interested in demonstrating at Rockler's get in touch directly with Chris Nilluka (store17@rockler.com)  or by phone for more information.
