I just received this request from Rose City Works who has a booth at this show.  It is an opportunity to promote woodturning and recruit NWWT members.  Below is from Mark Cary and John Sutter (NWWT member).

Please contact Mark or John if you would be interested in helping them for a couple of hours this coming weekend.

Dates and times:

  - Friday May 22nd 5:00 pm - 11:00 pm (Opening night)

  - Saturday May 23rd 11:00 am - 11:00 pm

  - Sunday May 24th 11:00 am - 11:00 pm

  - Monday May 25 11:00 am - 11:00 pm (Memorial Day)

We will not be staffing the lathe demonstration for the whole day. Also we will not remain at the tent passed 8:00 pm. We need help in staffing two hour blocks between 1:00 and 6:00 Saturday, Sunday and Monday. If you can help for for two or more hours on any day, it would help spread the load.

John Sutter will be turning handles for a screwdriver with a reversible head. He has the stock already purchased. A lathe and sharpening grinder will be onsite.  You can demonstrate anything you want.

Rose City Works has created the scepter for the Clown Prince of the Rose Festival. We are using our display at the City Fair to highlight the various skill and disciplines that went into constructing it. We want to alert the public that we will be offering classes of this nature (industrial and traditional arts and crafts) in the near future.

To go with that I would like to interview any member within the guilds who might like to teach turning at our facility this summer and in the fall.
